Meet the 2026 Honorees
Celebrating Excellence in Rural Education
 
The TREA Of The Year Awards recognize outstanding educators, leaders, and school boards whose service makes a meaningful difference for rural Texas students and communities.
$1,500 Award in Every Category
Each selected recipient receives a $1,500 award. For the Superintendent and School Board categories, the $1,500 award is paid directly to the recipient's school district.

The nomination period has closed.
Nominations will open November 2026. Updated information and forms for the next award cycle will be added when available.
Eligibility
Nominees must be employed by a TREA member district. School Board nominees must represent a TREA member district.
Recognition
Recipients are honored during the TREA Annual Conference. The Teacher Of The Year is also featured as the keynote speaker at the Awards Lunch.

A Tradition of Recognition
TREA's Teacher Of The Year and Superintendent Of The Year awards were introduced in 2007 by Dr. Don Rogers. The program has grown to recognize excellence across six categories representing the people and governing teams serving rural Texas schools.
